Before I learned my ABC’s, books and dolls were my canvases. Art in some form remained through a life rich with creative opportunities. While homeschooling our two children, I wrote art curriculum and taught students. I wrote and directed church drama productions, and designed sets. Now I create art in Paper Plate Studio to refresh heart and home with art that celebrates beauty and hope in humble places.
My art celebrates beauty and hope found in life’s humble places. Anticipatory grief, the grief before loss, is one of those places.
During my daughter’s lifetime battle with cystic fibrosis, I was not aware of this kind of grief and how to engage with it. It was after her death I learned of its value. Artful SoulCare equips others with practical support and spiritual nourishment to live the beauty and hope found in life’s humble places. The Chrysalis Collection provides handmade products designed for but not exclusive to women in anticipatory grief. When not in Paper Plate Studio creating art or content for Artful Grief Care, I love wandering a trail, working our acre of land, and meeting women one-on-one for spiritual conversation. And, I’m always game for new experiences. One of my greatest treasures is“You-and-me” time with our next-door neighbors: our son, daughter-in-law, and three grandchildren.
